How I remember Marshall St. is still so vivid in my mind. I lived on the 1000 block of Randolph St. and walked passed Hausemans pharmacy and brody's button store, etc. my dad dan would always go to the bakery for fresh bread, etc. it was so colorful with the fish, poultry , dress stores and so much more. glad to find this site as i live in florida now ......

I remember Marshall Street in the '50s. My grandparents lived a block away on 7th Street, above a doctor's office, and my grandfather worked in a barber shop across the street. My grandmother would take me to Marshall Street for water ice. I still remember the chocolate sodas at Kay's.

The photo shown in Changes: Northern Liberties. this is not Northern Liberties. The building with the Schmidt's billboard on top is actually on the SW corner of 22nd and Arch sts. In center city. In fact the building is still there today but without the sign. Roman

Thank you for responding. Are you referring to my cousin Antonio Pisano from Milan and Gasperina? He is the first cousin to my grandfather, also Antonio Pisano. I went to Gasperina and met him personally.
I would enjoy hearing a little more about you and your family history. The sister of my paternal grandmother married Gregorio Raspa.
